Sapphire Blair Eguro is a third generation captive bred in the USA, baby Blue Cayman X iguana of the species Cyclura nubila lewisi x caymanensis, and was adopted on July 19th, 1998. Marie had waited three years to adopt Sapphire.

Circumstances
Main food : Greens 60-70% of diet; turnip greens, collard greens, mustard greens, kale, etc.Sub food : Finely chopped vegetables 20-30% of diet; Butternut or kabocha squash (with skin), yucca root (skin peeled off), beans (soybeans, green beans, etc), dried human grade alfalfa leaf, asparagus, green pepper, yellow squash and zucchini, etc.
Dessert : Repcal adult iguana food usually soaked in water but sometimes fed dry, blueberries, strawberries and other fruits, weekly small bite treats of human food items.
Supplement : 1 teaspoon NutriBAC probiotic occasionally, small pinch of Repcal multivitamin once every month or two months. No calcium supplement given.
Lightings : Minimum of 2 hours very bright direct southern California sunlight between the hours of 11AM and 3PM per week. Usually more than 2 hours per week. No artificial UV light given.
Environment : 20 gallon long tank, with basking light at one end on for approximately 10-12 hours per day, heat pad on the opposite end. Two paper towels on bottom of tank as substrate. Hand towel under basking light for sitting on. Food plate constantly replenished all day long. Baths in warm water given daily.
Temperature : Basking spot: 105-115F(35C-44C), cooler areas: 75-80F(27C). At nighttime she crawls underneath papertowels and sleeps on heat pad, approximately 80F(27C).
